FULL DETAILS OF THE SILKNET PLUS SNOW SOCKS (Size 60)

Silknet Plus Snow socks are an ‘easy fit’ winter traction aid for cars, SUVs and vans. You are supplied with 2 socks that are fitted to your drive wheels in 2-4 minutes. Silknet are used by fitting them to the drive wheels of the vehicle (The wheels that are driven by the engine). You’ll need one sock on each of the drive wheels, so if you have a four wheel drive car you will need 4 socks which is 2 sets – as they’re sold in pairs.

Silknet are fitted easily, you hook them over the top of the tyre and fit as much as the sock as you can working downward. Once the sock is pulled as far as it can, roll the vehicle forward to rotate the wheel by 180 degrees. You can now pull the rest of the sock over the remaining part of the tyre. Silknet’s straps can then be used to centre the sock as best you can, once driving the sock will completely self centre.

Silknet has a patented design feature which actually pulls the fabric against the tyre to create a better adhesion to the tyre tread and at the same time create small folds and ripples in the centre of the snow sock fabric that creates better grip between the snow and the fabric. Furthermore, opposing directional fabric is produced to better trap snow in it’s weave and increase traction with the snow on the road.

    I don’t usually write reviews, but I had such a good experience with the Silknet Plus snow chains that I felt compelled to share my experience: I have never used these fabric chains or socks as they are called so I tried them out and to my amazement I got out of my drive and up my road (which is a small lane) onto the main road, I took them off and carried on my way. Everybody else along the lane was stuck all morning! I have used them a couple of times now and although a bit dirty, thy’re still in excellent condition. One very happy customer indeed.

    Thought I was going mad ordering these… Boy was I wrong. I had to fit them twice on the way to france skiing and back and take them off. Well to say I was standing in the snow for longer than 3 minutes each time would be an exaggeration. Still in good condition apart from a very small tear in the seam. Thoroughly impressed.
